I was born and raised in Montreal, which probably explains why I’ve spent most of my career writing about it. I started freelancing in the late 2010s while I was still in school, mostly taking on whatever assignments I could get and slowly realizing how much I enjoyed local storytelling. The more time I spent covering neighbourhood-level stories and everyday city life, the more it felt like something I wanted to keep doing.
I majored in Communication Studies at Concordia University and graduated in 2022, but by then, writing had already taken over. In 2021, I covered the Canadiens’ run to the Stanley Cup Final for Cult MTL and stumbled into sports writing in a way that felt surprisingly natural. That same year, I joined Daily Hive as a city reporter, where I bounced between breaking news, features, and eventually a heavier focus on sports.
In January 2025, I moved into a senior staff writer role at MTL Blog, where I cover a wide mix of stories tied to life in Montreal. Some days that means transit or cost-of-living pieces, other days it’s food, travel, or something odd enough to be worth a closer look. I like writing that’s clear, grounded, and useful, and I try to approach every story the way a reader would.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time cooking, playing tennis, and making music, which is a nice reminder that not everything needs to happen behind a screen.
